Ground Level WIND DIRECTION:
Current Wind Direction WInd Direction

Units: Kilometers per hour. This wind direction is taken at ground level. There is often a 10 knot difference between ground and tower values. Click on the graph for further wind details. Updated every 30 minutes. (PST)

Renew your browser frequently for updates, and click on any of the graphs below to get detailed information on how the factor is being measured at Race Rocks and on how the factor is important as
an abiotic factor in the Race Rocks Ecosystem

The Outside Heat Index
.
The Temperature Humidity Wind Index
Heat Index THW index
Heat Index uses the temperature and the relative humidity to determine how hot the air actually "feels." When humidity is low, the apparent temperature will be lower than the air temperature, since perspiration evaporates rapidly to cool the body.
The THW Index uses humidity, temperature and wind to calculate an apparent temperature that incorporates the cooling effects of wind on our perception of temperature.
